St. Philip Hosting "Know Your Rights" Immigrant Presentation April 23

The St. Philip community is invited to a free "Know Your Rights" and "Creating an Emergency Plan" program to educate immigrants about what to do if they encounter immigration officials or the police. It will be held on Sunday, April 23, at 6:30pm in the cafeteria.

The program, offered in English with Spanish translation, will explain:

  • Your rights in the U.S., regardless of your immigration status.
  • What to do if you are detained by the police or by immigration officials.
  • How to create an emergency plan for you and your family in case you are detained or deported.

 The event is being offered by Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington. For more information, contact (703) 534-9805.


40 Hours Devotion April 30-May 2

Come and pray with Our Lord in celebration of Saint Philip!

 

We will be hosting the Devotion of 40 Hours here at the Parish from April 30th until May 2nd, the day before the Feast of St. Philip. During this time we will have Eucharistic continuously.

Adoration will begin the evening of Sunday, April 30th and end on Tuesday, May 2rd. We will have a Mass in honor of Saint Philip at 7:00pm, followed by a party immediately after! Come and join us for these great events in honor of Saint Philip!

Workshop in Preparation for 40 Hours

Ever ask yourself: "How do I pray with Scripture?", "Why pray in Adoration?", "What is the Liturgy of the Hours?", or "How do I pray Morning Prayer?" All these questions, and so many more, will be answered at our Workshop in Preparation for 40 Hours, also known as "Prayer Boot Camp."

The workshop will be held twice:

  • April 23rd at 5:30pm
  • April 25th at 9:30am

No RSVP is necessary. Just show up! More details here.


Food Pantry Needs Your Support

The greatest need is spaghetti sauce, cereal, oil, jelly, condensed soups. Also needed canned meat, canned fruit, peanut butter. We do not need ramen.

Please do not bring in expired food items. They will only be thrown away.

Volunteers are also need on Sundays to take food to pantry; during the week to stock or bag; and Saturdays to distribute.

Food is distributed pm the 1st & 3rd Saturdays from 10-11:30am. For more information, see our webpage.
