Welcome, New Catholics!

Dear Parishioners,

Peace to you from the rectory, and happy Easter! This is certainly a time to rejoice in the wonderful gifts that flow to us from Our Lord’s Resurrection. At the Easter Vigil, when we celebrated this event in the most profound way, Fr. Steven said something that struck me: “Baptism changes our souls forever.” Right now, during this Easter Season when there is such a focus on Baptism, let us consider the ways in which this Sacrament transforms us: We are washed clean, created anew, and marked with the character of Christ. Through Baptism we belong to Him, He is forever our Shepherd.

There were six individuals who received the Sacrament of Baptism at the Easter Vigil: Adam White, Yesika Ortiz-Cabrera, Gabriela Ortiz Cabrera, Fernanda Del Canto, Bernadette Anderson, and Christopher Scheve. Join me in welcoming them! These six also received Confirmation and First Communion at that same ceremony.

In addition, six other Catholics were Confirmed that night, so let us welcome and congratulate them, too: Marita Duran, Bryant Alan Rocha, Kevin Leo Rocha, Brenda Ronquillo, Alexander Veizaga, and Byron Vigil. I offer my hearty thanks to all involved in the formation of these newly baptized and confirmed Catholics.

Thanks also to all who served in the beautiful liturgies of the Triduum, as well as to those who hosted the reception following the Easter Vigil for these neophytes and their families.

Your servant in Christ, Fr. Donahue
