Religious Education

The mission of the Religious Education Office is to inspire and assist our parishioners in their journey of understanding the “mystery of Christ” in all its dimensions (cf. Catechesi Tradendae 5); to assist parents in their role as primary educators in the faith of their children.

The Christian home is the place where children receive the first proclamation of the faith. For this reason the family home is rightly called 'the domestic church,' a community of grace and prayer, a school of human virtues and of Christian charity.

—Catechism of the Catholic Church 1666

"Sport, properly directed, develops character, makes a man courageous, a generous loser, and a gracious victor; it refines the senses, gives intellectuals penetration, and steels the will to endurance. It is not merely a physical development then. Sport, rightly understood, is an occupation of the whole man, and while perfecting the body as an instrument of the mind, it also makes the mind itself a more refined instrument for the search and communication of truth and helps man to achieve that end to which all others must be subservient, the service and praise of his Creator." – Pope Pius XII
